Een van mijn eerste uitgevoerde ideeën in dezelfde geest als wat ik nu wil doen.

 

 

 

 

‘ABOUT ME’  van Kees Lemmens

Uitgangspunt van mijn project is een gebouw te ontwerpen waarvan programma en functie onvoorspelbaar veranderen, terwijl het wordt ontworpen. Doel is een gebouw met een specifieke veelheid aan potentiële juxtaposities en implicaties: zowel practisch, filosofisch als experiëntieel.  [meer hierover]

 

achtergrond en persoonlijke geschiedenis

Ik ben in 1989 Bouwkunde gaan studeren in Delft …nagenoeg nominaal tot en met het 3e jaar van de toen 4-jarige studie. Vanaf ’92 is mijn studie echter ernstig verstoord door ziekte, wat mij mede heeft bepaald. Ik ontwikkelde van sterk exact naar meer talig, met een actieve interesse in filosofie, beeldende en later zelfs performance-kunsten en choreografie. Met lange en korte onderbrekingen studeerde ik verder (o.a. aan Southbank University en the London School of Economic Science) en werkte enkele jaren tot zeer kort voor een paar nederlandse architecten. Belangrijker voor me zijn echter minder beduidende, meer persoonlijke successen: zoals een aantal eigen exposities en voorstellingen, die soms werden erkend door full-time kunstenaars en/of architecten.

 The principle idea for my project is to design a building of which function and program of demands change unpredictably, while it is still being designed.The objective is a building with a specific multiplicity of potential juxtapositions and implications; with respect to practicality as well as in a philosophical and experiential sense. personal history and background

I started my studies of architecture at the TU Delft in 1989  …studying nominally for the first three of ­­­­–at the time– four years of study. From ’92 on my studies were disrupted gravely by disease, the experience of which has been of influence on my thoughts and ideas. Originally I have a strong affinity with the exact sciences, but I feel I developed more linguistically, with an active interest in philosophy, fine arts and ultimately even performance arts and choreography.With many long and short term interruptions I continued my studies (at the TU Delft, Southbank University and The London School of Economic Science) and worked –very shortly up to several years­– for a few dutch architects.More important to me are less noticible, more personal achievements: like a number of expositions and performances, which were sometimes acknowledged by full-time artists and/or architects.
